Job Title: Senior CAD Specialist

Location: Arlington, VA (Pentagon)


ALEX - Alternative Experts is now hiring a Senior CAD Specialist for an opening in Arlington, VA. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting Government Projects Managers in determining and collecting end user requirements, developing architectural drawings using CAD software, and providing oversight and execution of all design documentation to comply with building configuration standards. Specific duties include but are not limited to:

  • Creating, modifying, converting, and standardizing CAD drawings with Bentley MicroStation or AutoCAD
  • Gathering data to prepare detailed drawings of building alterations and additions
  • Developing solutions and details using the CAD System to complete drafting assignments
  • Associating drawing objects to spatial information within a CAFM environment
  • Working with polylined spaces, area overlays, and query boundaries on master record drawing
  • Performing quality assurance compliance reviews to ensure deliverables conform to standards
  • Filing and indexing drawings to a common Electronic Data Management System repository and format
  • Repairing non- compliant data elements within CAD files to comply with data standards
  • Training junior level staff in CAD software and procedures
  • Creating SOP's and manuals for internal process and procedures

Required Qualifications:

  • Meet and maintain activeSecurity Clearancerequirement
  • 5 or more years of experience using CAD software, computer drafting, and design technology
  • 3 or more years of experience with Department of Defense construction projects
  • Understanding of security requirements associated with handling design documents
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills

Required Education:

  • Associate’s Degree in relevant field OR 6 years of equivalent experience
