The School of Law at the University of Colorado Boulder encourages applications for a Development Assistant! We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Advancement team, which generates philanthropic support and overall external engagement for the School. The Development Assistant will, under minimal supervision, perform a broad array of administrative projects and tasks that reflect substantial variety, complexity, and urgency.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Provide overall administrative support for the Assistant Dean for Advancement and development officers. Support includes but is not limited to: answering and directing phone calls, sorting and distributing mail, preparing routine and non-routine correspondence, document management, maintaining office equipment, resolving hardware and software issues with System Advancement IT team, ordering office supplies and maintaining adequate inventory levels.
Assist with travel arrangements, schedule meetings, and appointments and maintain calendars to ensure efficient time management. Assist staff with expense reimbursement and data entry relative to contact information, contact reports and other data as needed.
Donor Gifts Management
Manage Law gifts (process gifts, handle rev/mods, create appeal forms, pledge forms, T/Ns), lead all aspects of execution of the gift acknowledgment process, draft acknowledgment letters, run periodic gift reports. Identify, research and resolve issues or discrepancies regarding donations, fund transfers, and new gift funds. Work directly with donors to facilitate gifts and answer questions. Create pledges forms.
Complete new account forms, routing and following-up on forms and fund agreements to ensure required approval signatures obtained in a timely manner; provide complete information to Accounting and Stewardship Departments and processing staff.
Assist development staff in all aspects of event planning, including providing logistical support, tracking responses, communicating with vendors, filling out necessary forms (vendor contracts, official function, alcohol, event forms, etc.), keeping team updated regarding logistical information, providing day-of-event assistance as needed, expense processing support, and other event follow-up.
Obtain necessary training to help support events, including TIPS certification.
Utilize appropriate databases for tracking program participants and prospective participants. Provide oversight for database updates to ensure data currency.
Generate department accounts payable vouchers, verifying the accuracy of invoices and accounting codes to be charged. May assist in the preparation and monitoring of the departmental budget.
Act as liaison with the University regarding questions, research information, reports, and operations.
Supervise student assistants, provide assignments and mentorship as needed.
Provide onboarding and off-boarding support for department (requires processing of forms, obtaining signatures, managing communications, HR follow-up, expense processing, etc., crafting start-up plans; scheduling trainings; intro meetings; on-site IT set-up, etc.

The salary range for this position starts at $47,000.

What We Require
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
A minimum of 3 years of administrative experience.
Personal computer proficiency required, especially as related to the following software: Microsoft Office Products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; and Internet required. Computer skills may be subject to testing/verification.
What You Will Need
Expert knowledge of general office procedures, protocol, and professionalism; expert knowledge of Business English, spelling, punctuation and grammar.
Expert ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, adapt to changing priorities, manage time and meet deadlines.
Proven ability to work in a team environment, develop effective interpersonal relationships, provide outstanding customer service, and communicate verbally and in writing.
Proven data entry skills with the ability to input information accurately; prepare and maintain detailed records, files, and reports on an ongoing basis.
Solid ability to coordinate technical presentations including hardware set up.
Solid knowledge of database management with the ability to query reports, utilize data, and convert programs.
Solid ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail and solid knowledge of money handling and mathematics.
Solid knowledge of multi-line phone system.
Solid knowledge of fundraising concepts.
What We Would Like You To Have
Experience working in higher education.
Experience in non-profit, events and/or development/fundraising experience.
Familiarity with Publisher, Access, Breed Solutions for Fundraising and Donor Relations (BSR) or similar software highly preferred.
