The Benefits Coordinator is responsible for assisting with benefits administration, wellness and associate programs, and reporting and compliance. The Benefits Coordinator is the internal point of contact for benefit transactions, has a working knowledge of Express’ benefit practices and policies, and partners with associates and benefit vendors on issue resolution.

Essential Tasks

Benefits Administration

  • Serve as the internal point of contact for benefit inquiries including eligibility, enrollment and claims
  • Serve as Tier 2 support for benefit escalations
  • Assist with the administration and communication of benefit plans
  • Assist with annual benefits open enrollment
  • Assist with benefit plan audits
  • Perform new hire benefits onboarding
  • Provide support with HIPAA compliance
  • Coordinate special projects and assignments as needed
  • Serve as back-up to Leave of Absence administration

Wellness and Associate Programs

  • Schedule, coordinate and communicate wellness events including blood drives, flu shots, mobile mammogram and annual benefits fair
  • Process tuition reimbursement and adoption assistance requests
  • Produce and distribute discount cards and service awards

Reporting and Compliance

  • Run and prepare scheduled and ad hoc benefits reporting and associated tasks
  • Participate in benchmarking surveys and research trends/competitor survey information to provide support for benefit changes
  • Process benefit invoice reporting and calculation
  • Reconcile and process retirement plan wire requests

Other essential tasks may occur as directed by your supervisor

Job Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • 1 – 2 years related work experience in benefits administration or Bachelor or Associate degree, preferably in Human Resources or a business field
  • Microsoft Office experience (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information
  • Demonstrated problem solving, time management and priority setting skills
  • Able to deal with challenging situations with mature problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills and proven ability to perform in an unpredictable, fast-paced environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and drive for quality results

Preferred Requirements (skills and abilities)

  • Customer service or HR experience preferred
  • Prior PeopleSoft experience preferred
