Who:
Partners HealthCare is a not-for-profit, integrated health care system in the Boston community. Founded by the Brigham and Women's Hospital and the Massachusetts General Hospital - two of the nation's leading academic medical centers - Partners HealthCare includes community and specialty hospitals, a managed care organization, a physician network, community health centers, home care, and other health related services. Partners HealthCare is the largest private employer in Massachusetts, with approximately 60,000+ employees, including physicians, caregivers, scientists, nurses, and support staff. We're dedicated to providing an exceptional patient experience at all times and ensuring that our employees can balance their professional and personal lives.

What:
The Partners in Career and Workforce Development (PCWD) Health Care Training and Employment Program is designed for individuals interested in entry-level employment within one of the Partners HealthCare affiliated hospitals and member institutions. This is not a job, this an 8-week unpaid training program which includes 4 weeks of classroom instruction and a 4 week internship in a clerical or support staff position. Our free, full-time, 8-week training program will give you the skills and tools you need in order to succeed in an entry- or mid-level role in many settings within our hospitals and affiliates. Placement assistance is offered after graduation, but a job within Partners HealthCare is not guaranteed.

Why:
If you need to strengthen your skills and would like to pursue a great entry-level job within a premier health care organization, this may be the right program for you. PCWD is designed for people who have the desire to help others, a genuine concern for the welfare of the patients, and the ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and challenging situations. Within the training, PCWD offers the following to prepare you for a career in health care:

Introduction to the health care environment
Resume preparation
Interviewing skills
Medical terminology
Customer service and communication skills training
Internship in a hospital department
Job search assistance
Career counseling and development
Post-placement support and follow-up
Financial literacy education
Supportive services
Professional image development

How:
If you meet the following requirements below and are interested in PCWD, please begin the application process by clicking "Apply Online" on this page. You are required to submit a resume with your online application, and will be asked to complete questionnaire on the application explaining why you are interested in our program, and how you would benefit from our program if selected. Our staff will contact you for a phone screen if they feel you meet the requirements. We strongly encourage you to apply well before the posted deadline.

The PCWD Program will be going on a brief hiatus after the Fall 2018 cycle, and will return during 2020. PCWD will not be held throughout 2019.
