The Store District Manager serves as the driving force for managing change and challenging the resources available to improve operations and financial results. The District Manager of our Michigan Detroit South District has overall P&L responsibility for ten stores. The Michigan Detroit South District consists of store locations in South Metro Detroit market.

As for any position, there are some requirements:
At least 5 years of retail management experience with at least 2 years multi-unit leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Bachelor degree in business or related field (preferred)
Valid driver’s license

As part of leadership, our District Managers:
Interview, staff and retain store leadership.
Ensure succession planning within the district in order to have adequate leadership bench strength.
Are responsible for meeting or exceeding the plan for all key financial and business performance metrics in the district including sales, margin, labor, general expenses, inventory and profit and loss.
Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures in maximizing operational performance.
Assist in developing capital and operational budgets for the stores in the district. Routinely monitor, manage, control budget, analyze variances, takes appropriate action, and develop plans for productivity improvements.
Visit stores on a regular and consistent basis, completes a business review and provides written feedback to the store manager at the time of the visit in achieving a minimum of three visits per quarter, focusing on operations, merchandising and sales/service.
Manage the incentive and payroll programs by supporting the understanding and promotion of all store programs in effectively managing payroll costs.
Provide the leadership, support, and direction to effectively open new stores, resets and relocations.
Ensure execution of all safety programs and emergency procedures within the stores in the district.
Responsible for the execution of technology and technology training related to operations, merchandising, sales and service.
