As a Manufacturing Process Engineer in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary group, you will be responsible for developing and validating the MFG process to latest design/Technology and implement at CM successfully. You role will include Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and early involvement with product design team to ensure excellent manufacturability, working with CM MFG team at the area of yield improvement, cost reduction and scale, mechanical fixture design and test, automation, failure analysis, and advanced process controls. Collaborate with other multi-disciplinary teams to maintain strong functional relationship to co-develop and structure future requirements.

This position requires travel internationally and must be willing to travel at least 30% or more as needed by the business.

Establish, deliver, and maintain manufacturing processes for new products throughout the product life cycle: Work with ODMs, CMs, and vendors to prioritize and solve problems. Drive continuous improvement through the supply chain, resulting in reduced cycle time, increased yields and improved cost.
Collaborate with Product Design engineers and EE team to ensure robust design for manufacturing, providing expertise in manufacturability (DFM) and influence Product Design and EE to improve manufacturability for yield and reliability
Interface cross-functionally with design and commodity teams in down-selection, sourcing, qualification, and integration of components and vendors used in Google’s products; work with Quality and Reliability team to define requirements for shipment
Provide strong engineering in mechanical fixture designs to fast track product manufacturing to mass production, including working with contract manufacturers and vendors to prioritize and solve problems

Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent practical experience
5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role and taking care of the product from NPI to volume MFG stage
Experience with GD&T (tolerance stack up and design) and experience developing robust and repeatable processes to scale new products, including mechanical fixture designs, with process controls in mind in a rapid schedule.
Experience driving engineering requirements and cost saving initiatives at vendors and contract manufacturers

Preferred qualifications:
8 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, with an understanding in injection molding, foam process, adhesive, carbon tube and machining process
Six sigma training, black belt or Lean manufacturing concepts and methodologies; Knowing well how to use statistical software, i.e. JMP, minitab; Experience in SMT process
Knowledgeable in FATP process and technology, experience in drone or flight system manufacturing and experience in a fast pace production ramping environment on both NPI and sustaining phase
Capable to apply manufacturing statistics and design of experiments, able to review the end to end process and identify the cost reduction area with effective implementation plan

Fluent in English and Mandarin
