POSITION SUMMARY Supports and/or improves business processes with information technology solutions. Develops, designs, and analyzes diverse systems and/or programs of difficult scope and complexity. Ensures integrity of the company's databases, transaction processing and reporting systems, security, resource monitoring, reporting, and the development of specialized systems and processes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Performs systems analyses of business and/or computing environment problems of diverse/difficult scope and complexity that includes requirements definition, interfacing with users, and providing cost and benefit analyses. Prepares complex trade-off studies and benchmark analyses. 2. Develops and manages information technology project plans and schedules. Acts as the prime contact on high level projects or may serve as project leader. Establishes goals and objectives required to complete projects; explains work methods and ensures project assignment completeness, timeliness and accuracy. Estimates, develops and manages project budgets and cost/performance analysis. 3. Confers with program and/or system users to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and evaluate specific input and output requirements. 4. Develop or modify computer programs of difficult scope and complexity by writing detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and processing steps required. 5. Determine if requested program change is possible within existing system by reviewing computer system capabilities, processes, workflow, and implementation schedule. Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses. Analyzes proposed changes in methods and materials. 6. Analyzes, designs, plans, codes, tests, documents, and implements business applications required to develop or maintain systems. Prepares process workflow charts and diagrams to specify, in detail, operations to be performed by computer systems. Upgrades and maintains systems after implementation. 7. Interfaces with information technology staff throughout the aerospace group to coordinate project development, changes, or implementation. Communicates with external customers and suppliers to resolve technical and business issues. 8. Prepares project status reports to inform management of project progress and resource requirements. Identifies any issues that need to be elevated to management for resolution or assistance. 9. Trains users for effective implementation and use of systems. Creates user documentation and develops training materials. Prepares and gives technical presentations on selected topics. 10. Applies continuous improvement techniques and methods to internal processes and systems to increase efficiency and customer service, and to reduce costs. May lead or be assigned to a special project team. 11. May lead new technology evaluation related to operating systems, hardware, software packages, development tools and methodologies. Identifies alternative or new technologies; implements new Information Technology standards. 12. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical professional publications, establishing industry networks, and/or participating in professional associations. 13. Complies with federal and state legal requirements (e.g. software licensing, confidentiality of employee records); ensures adherence to requirements and advises management on needed actions. May research existing and new legislation and recommend policy changes. 14. Shares specialized knowledge with others. May train or mentor newer employees. Represents Company on specific projects. Prepares and conducts technical presentations on selected topics. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Work assignments may include cross-functional or project team responsibilities (e.g. continuous improvement). SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES for this role will include: Evaluate the current data warehouse environment (Microsoft SQL Server 2012, 2016, SSAS, SSRS, SSIS) and then make changes to improve and/or create new data marts, end-to-end flows, by designing and implementing these processes. Strong background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework. Develop performance dashboards and reports that efficiently fulfill the requirements of the BI for the department which will replace existing reporting methods. Extensive experience with BI reporting technologies (Microsoft Power BI experience preferred) The goal is to modernize the data infrastructure supporting the Business Intelligence Environment and utilize Power BI for developers and power users alike. In this role, you will provide data analysis for customers and data integration activities to ensure that data is received, complete, accurate and available for product delivery. Act as a liaison between cross functional teams and participate in resolving new Business Intelligence requests using Power BI. Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language. Very strong customer service orientation Job Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience - Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration. Required experience which has provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through six or more years of increasingly responsible related application/infrastructure experience utilizing the company's standard toolsets. Specific assignment may require recognized certification in area of expertise. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Thorough knowledge of programming, system design and analysis principles, and general business operations. Specific area of assignment may require knowledge in specific or multiple products and tools such as: technical knowledge of software and hardware selection implementation and testing methodology, client/server application development, architecture, database-connectivity and database design methodology; and, thorough knowledge of manufacturing organization, business and workflow process, and quality methods. Ability to effectively assess and implement continuous improvement principles and techniques. Knowledge of project management standards, methods, and techniques. Ability to work on a variety of problems of diverse scope and complexity where analysis and evaluation of various outcomes require tradeoffs; solves a wide range of difficult problems in imaginative and practical ways. Ability to evaluate alternative solutions that may require coordination across multiple teams. Ability to establish goals and objectives to complete projects. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies and recommend changes to procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with users, project teams, and management. Ability to analyze, and interpret business periodicals and detailed technical manuals and procedures. Ability to respond to significant inquiries from users. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal-setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.
