The Internal Communications Specialist assists in the development and execution of comprehensive internal communications programs for the company’s Corporate, Commercial, and Simulation Systems training products and services by performing the following duties:
Ensure that all internal communications vehicles support FlightSafety International’s brand and are produced in accordance with the company’s brand personality, key messages and objectives.
Provide status updates and announcments for internal FlightSafety Operations projects in coordination with Project Management Operations.
This position could necessitate the performance of duties outside normal business office hours on an ‘as needed’ basis.
Ensure that the objectives and key messages are met and communicated within the established guidelines.
Assist with the company’s external communications activities; this involves interaction with the Corporate Communications group.Review all materials with Corporate Communications prior to distribtion.
NOTE: This position could require some travel to various locations in order to fulfill the requirements of the job.
Analysis, Design and Develop Activities: (Includes Compliance with regulations and guidelines and Quality Management Systems policies and procedures)
Develop and execute effective and cost efficient internal communications plans and programs.
Support the company’s customer and Teammate satisfaction initiatives including the identification and understanding of needs and expectations as well as key purchase decision and satisfaction drivers.
Participate in the planning, development and execution of a comprehensive and effective internal relations effort.
Teamwork – Internal & External Activities:
Work closely with key stakeholders to establish near and long term internal communications goals and objectives.
Interact with internal and external resources to support the company’s overall communications strategy, objectives and messaging.
Select and manage external creative resources in conjunction with Corporate Communications and provide them with the guidance and information required to complete their assigned tasks including the design, production and placement of materials.
Establish objectives, key messages, budget, audience and corresponding list of recipients.
Oversee the writing, design, layout, production and distribution of materials; interact with various FlightSafety International teammates and outside vendors/consultants/suppliers regarding content material.
Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with Teammates, Customers, business associates and suppliers.
Effectively lead and/or direct colleagues including those who may be senior in tenure or status.
Identify, gather and coordinate the development and production of content for internal announcements.
Coordinate the internal distribution of announcements and respond to inquires in accordance with company approved practices.
Monitor, measure and report on the results achieved through the agreed upon programs and then recommend and implement changes to the Vice President and/or Senior Manger, Corporate Communications or other upper management, as required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: (Minimum Requirements)
Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university preferred, or five (5) years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; equivalency years experience substitution must be in related field
Preferred field of study/experience: Sales, Marketing, Product “Branding”, Communications, Business development, etc.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the fields of Communications, Business Development, Research or Marketing or any combination thereof.
Documented creative ability as well as analytical, organizational and project management skills.
Familiarity with the aviation industry; experience to include various training programs, associated regulatory requirements and simulation systems, preferred.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Fluency in English, through both verbal and written communications; able to speak, understand, read and write; fluency in other languages such as Spanish, German and French would be an asset.
