Bakery Assistant Manager Hands-On Position
Job Description:
As the Bakery Assistant Manager, you will play a key role assisting the department manager with all daily operations of the bakery. This is a hands-on role that requires both Leadership skills and a deep passion for baking and cooking.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assistdirecting and participating in the preparation of baked goods
· Follow recipes precisely to ensure consistency in taste, texture and appearance.
· Minimize shrink through proper handling and storing of product
Adhere to company policy through proper processing, preparation, and packaging of product
· Operate and maintain bakery/kitchen equipment like mixers, ovens, proofers.
· Ensure supply levels are at acceptable levels, fulfill orders as needed
· Complete all necessary paperwork relating to Bakery Department
· Assist the bakery manager in training, supervising and motivating team members to achieve production goals while maintaining quality standards.
· Assist the Bakery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
· Adhere to strict cleanliness protocol as well as health and safety standards
Qualifications
· 2+ years food service/bakery/culinary experience
· Previous shift lead/management experience mandatory
· Ability to stand and walk short for an entire shift
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation
· Open availability, must be able to work some weekends, holidays and closing shifts
· Must have a valid Food Safety Management Certification or be able to obtain one within 30 days from the hire date
· Must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment
