PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: The Customer Account Specialist will be responsible for providing Customer Service assistance and guidance for their assigned site. Customer Service department handles all customer requests, order entry, running daily reports and works very close with all departments to ensure all customer requests are handled in a timely manner.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to and may vary dependent on areas of operation:
- Accuracy of all paperwork produced.
- Follow all customer requirements.
- Assist supervision/management as needed.
- Answer door, phone calls, and shipping office windows.
- Follow company policies, guidelines and work instructions.
- Warehouse work as needed (labeling, re-boxing, etc.)
- All CAS will be expected to cross train other CAS positions.
- Maintain professional relationship with the carriers, customers and team members.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following and other duties as assigned.
- Transportation Scheduling
- Release/tender truckloads and pool shipments within the warehouse management system.
- E-mail and contact carriers with freight information.
- Schedule and receive appointments for truck loads and pool shipments.
- Sign drivers in/out.
- Work in the ship office as needed.
- Work with site contacts on special projects.
- Ensuring right tickets are with the right appointments.
- Customer Service
- Processing cross docks.
- Holding product and dealing with customer rush shipments.
- Verifying inventory.
- Research OS&D’s, create reports, complete cut logs, perform adjustments and report turn times.
- Posting inbound and outbound orders.
- Inputting orders on time to be shipped on pools.
- Researching customer requests.
- Ensuring electronic transactions are successful.
- Miscellaneous
- Maintain a professional manner in appearance and communications at all times.
- Participate in staff and/or customer meetings if required.
- Develop PC/tablet skills to perform any e-mailing, reports, label preparation, order release, driver sign-out, inventory checks and/or any type of PC/tablet function necessary for that specific area.
- Safety, Housekeeping, Security
- Safety glasses, seat belts, and ID badges must be worn if associates are on forklifts.
- Follow posted safety and security procedures at all times while in the building.
- Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work/lunch room area.
- Responsibility and Authority
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality systems.
- Identify and record any issues relating to product, processes and/or quality.
- Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through appropriate channels.
- Verify the implementation of solutions.

- Available to work various shifts.

Education: High School Degree preferred
Experience: 1 to 3 years preferred.
Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
PC, leadership and planning skills helpful.
Experience in AS400, SAP, Word, Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
Experience with warehouse paperwork preferred.
Candidates may be required to operate a Clamp truck/forklift and to successfully complete the forklift training program.
