Nursing Clinical Instructor to supervise and teach undergraduate clinical in the acute care psychiatric setting in the hospital.
Requirements: 1) Master's Degree in Nursing with a minimum of 1 year experience working as a RN in an acute care psychiatric setting, 2) active and incumbered RN license to practice in WA state, 3) willing to submit to background check. Prior teaching experience is preferred.
Also considered: 1) BSN in Nursing with at least 3 years of clinical experience, or BSN in Nursing enrolled in a master's or DNP program.
Schedule: Supervising undergraduate BSN nursing students in a psychiatric hospital acute care setting in the Seattle area, teaching basic nursing skills, nursing diagnosis and care plans, Mondays day shift (0700-1530) or Mondays evening shift (1500-2330)=0.3 FTEE, Part-time. Instructors needed starting Fall quarter 9/15/2020.
Implementation of weekly learning goals for students to include:
Clinical supervision of students in inpatient setting to perform basic assessment and basic psychiatric nursing skills in an inpatient psychiatric hospital setting with adults.
Evaluation of student performance in clinical setting against course learning objectives
Providing feedback on care plan and nursing documentation
Promoting critical thinking in clinical situations
Leading pre- and post-conference sessions
Making assignments to patients
