The Pet Cancer Foundation’s vision is to increase the life expectancy and improve the quality of life of pets diagnosed with cancer. Estimates currently suggest that approximately 12M dogs and cats are developing cancer every year, which is roughly 6x the number of humans getting cancer yearly within North America.
As the organization continues to work towards the accomplishment of our mission, the PCF team includes professionals contributing virtually across Canada, the United States, and several other countries worldwide. About the position:
As the Director of Online Marketing Strategy, your primary responsibility is to lead the development and execution of the organization's digital outreach strategy and initiatives for PCF’s new blog and newsletter, and by extension the organization’s website. Your responsibilities involve building and leading a dynamic team, development of the website’s marketing strategy, the creation, planning, and optimizing of campaigns, and leveraging digital platforms to enhance the reach and impact of our pet health advocacy efforts. The Director of Online Marketing Strategy is crucial in driving awareness, engaging our online community, and ensuring the effective utilization resources to support our mission of enhancing pet health.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement a comprehensive online marketing strategy tailored to elevate the launch and impact of our blog and newsletter within the pet community.
- Lead a cross-functional team, guiding them in the creation and implementation of marketing campaigns including effective use of the organization’s google ad grant.
- Contribute to the approved strategies to leverage the high-quality content of our blog and newsletter, ensuring alignment and resonance with the target audience.
- Continuously analyze and optimize digital marketing campaigns associated with our blog and newsletter, using data-driven insights to enhance effectiveness.
- Where opportunities exist, identify and cultivate partnerships with external parties, organizations, and online communities to expand the reach and influence of our blog and newsletter.
- Build and nurture an active online community around our blog and newsletter, fostering meaningful interactions and representing the organization's values.
- Implement robust analytics tools, track key performance indicators, and provide regular reports to assess the effectiveness of online marketing efforts related to the blog and newsletter.
- Effectively manage the budget allocated to online marketing initiatives for the blog and newsletter, ensuring optimal utilization for maximum impact.
About You:
You are a dedicated, driven, and enthusiastic individual who thrives in a collaborative environment. While you love digital marketing, you also have the ability and experience to understand that the organization's needs may not align with traditional non-cancer companies or organizations' digital marketing efforts. You have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations
- Team leadership experience, managing others in subordinate roles
- Proven track record of successful experience in digital marketing
- Excellent communication, messaging, and storytelling skills
- Mindset of a team player, ready willing and able to jump in and help out as needed with a variety of tasks.
- Strong project management skills; highly organized with a strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, with the ability to build and develop relationships across levels
