The YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the foundations of community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Boll Family YMCA is expanding their health and wellness team.
The Lifestyle Coach is primarily responsible for ensuring the safety of YMCA members utilizing the strength and cardio-respiratory areas. The Lifestyle coach also encourages YMCA member’s adoption of habits that are conducive to a higher quality of life. The Lifestyle Coach is responsible for following members through the Next Step process, tracking member engagements, ensuring proper use and cleanliness of wellness center while maintaining a safe and motivating environment.
Must be at least 18 years of age and have knowledge of basic exercise science, and biomechanics. Prior strength/conditioning experience is preferred. A basic understanding of computer hardware and software is required. In addition, the position requires (or the ability to obtain within specified time frame) current CPR AED, First Aid and Safety & Risk Management certifications. Other acceptable certifications (ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NSCA).
