Working under the direction of the Surgical Technology Program Director, The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for organization, administration, continuous review, planning, development, and general effectiveness of clinical experiences for students enrolled in the surgical technology program. The Clinical Coordinator is the liaison between the clinical facilities and the program and is responsible for student placement at practicum sites, maintaining affiliation agreements, and monitoring the quality of clinical sites and students’ performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate student clinical experiences with clinical agencies.
2. Maintain currency of all contractual clinical affiliation agreements.
3. Verify student clinical clearance records with allied health administrators and clinical personnel.
4. Coordinate evaluation of clinical sites each semester.
5. Discuss clinical issues to the Program Director in a timely manner.
6. Collaborate with clinical site coordinators and Program Director to ensure clinical practicum standards, policies, and procedures are implemented and maintained.
7. Disseminate a status report of student practicum placements every semester. Update as needed based on changes in practicum assignments.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
● MUST HAVE CST CERTIFICATION AND Possess a credential in the field of Surgical Technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA)
● Have a minimum total of five years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in Surgical Technology, or a combination of both, within the past six years.
● At least one year of experience in an administrative role within an academic setting (Preferred).
● Strong organizational and time management skills
● Demonstrate an understanding of standard clinical procedures, laws and regulations
