We are seeking a skilled and proactive WMS Administrator to ensure the smooth operation of our enterprise resource planning (ERP) and warehouse management system (WMS), Canopy, and other critical software applications. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for implementing Canopy into our newly acquired entities and for maintaining system functionality, providing user support and training, creating and managing reports and implementing new features as needed. The WMS Administrator will report directly to the Chief Transformation Officer.
Whetstone Distribution is a platform of small to mid-sized food distributors in the Midwest, owned primarily by Shore Capital Partners. Currently, there are four distributors in the Whetstone platform: Moesle Meat Distribution Co (Chicago), Fulton Market (Chicago), Queen Foods (Kansas City) and Pritzlaff Wholesale Meats (Milwaukee). The platform growth strategy is to complete add-on acquisitions to establish a complementary network of regional food distribution operations while also driving organic growth by acquiring new customers and expanding product line and processing capabilities. Job Responsibilities
- Assist with implementation of Canopy ERP/WMS system at newly acquired businesses
- Monitor and maintain the functionality of the Canopy system, ensuring availability, performance and security.
- Write and maintain SOPs for common processes.
- Provide user support and training to ensure proper utilization of software tools and features.
- Create and maintain reports and alerts to track key metrics and identify areas for improvement.
- Learn about new software features and modules and implement them to enhance business operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues, including scan guns and label printers.
- Schedule and oversee software upgrades in coordination with software vendors.
- Manage user groups and security settings to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with IT service providers to troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues.
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data within the software systems.
- Assist in creating a repeatable playbook for implementation of Canopy at other companies within Whetstone Distribution.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- 2+ years’ experience with technology systems, including at least one ERP or WMS implementation.
- Experience in warehouses/distribution centers training end-users and troubleshooting issues with label printers and scan guns.
- Experience writing queries a plus.
- Fluency in English is required; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to train and support users at various levels of technical proficiency.
- High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
- Experience with hardware troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Familiarity with software development principles and methodologies is a plus.
- Position is based in Chicago and will initially be a local Canopy implementation. New acquisitions may be throughout the Midwestern states; thus, willingness to travel 5 days/week to another city/state based on future acquisition needs.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
