Director, Anesthesiology

Overview:
The Director, Anesthesiology reports to the Director and Anesthesiologst-in-Chief (AIC) and AVP, Anesthesiology and partners with AIC, AVP and department leadership team to drive department initiatives and priorities. This role requires superb day-to-day management skills, project leadership, exceptional problem-solving skills, the ability to navigate complex situations, and the capacity to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The Director, Anesthesiology will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of the Department’s vision, in conjunction with the AIC, while fostering a culture of collaboration and values alignment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Drives the execution of various department initiatives and projects. Proactively identifies areas that require attention or improvement and works with relevant stakeholders to develop and enact solutions.

Keeps the AIC apprised of major issues and risks and identifies approaches to resolve issues.

Partners with the AIC and departmental leadership team to ensure there is effective change management with strong communication and cascading mechanisms.

Facilitaties organizational planning, policy development, and problem resolution; ensures implementation plans are effectively communicated and managed.

Implements the strategic goals of the AIC and ensures successful operational execution.

Serves as the administrator for the department’s physician leadership team. Drives logistics of team meetings including agenda creation and notetaking. Establishes ownership of work streams following meetings, ensuring that work is completed in an efficient and timely manner.
Qualifications:
Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in health or business administration or related is required (Master’s preferred).

Minimum 5 years management experience in healthcare strategy and/or operations

Project Management experience required.

Analytical and data analysis experience preferred.

Ability to put vision to paper and drive strategic thinking, as well as translate strategy into operational plans

Ability to lead workstreams and engage executive leadership, clinical teams and business/operational leaders
-
Ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholders, driving alignment across functions
-
Excellent leadership, organization and time-management skills
Pay Range - Minimum: USD $120,000.00/Yr. Pay Range - Maximum: USD $140,000.00/Yr.
