Recognizing Candida as a growing health threat, the lab aims to understand its spread, transition from commensalism to pathogenesis, and resistance to antifungal therapy. The lab explores Candida in the context of the human microbiome using techniques such as comparative genomics, in vitro experimental evolution, and clinical and natural history studies of humans.
