Bernik Industries, LLC, a provider of technical support talent in the bus manufacturing industry, is seeking qualified candidates for Quality Assurance bus inspections for a NY MTA project. Candidates must possess the following:
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proficiency with electronic filing and reporting.
Ability to work well independently or on a team.
Electromechanical inspection experience required.
Knowledge of best practices and standards regarding wire routing, wire termination, fastener torqueing, and general workmanship.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and standards.
Proficient with the handling and use of precision measurement equipment.
ASQ Certification as Certified Quality Inspector.
New York City area resident.
A personal vehicle will be required as work assignments will require travel between NYCT bus depots.
Ability to work during the night shift.
High school graduate with technical schooling or Associate Degree and three or more years of relevant inspection or quality assurance experience.
Duties and responsibilities:
Physical inspection of new technology equipment installations to include the identification of nonconforming conditions per approved instructions, checklists and standards.
Witness of post-installation function testing per approved procedures, to include the identification of any out of tolerance results and performance.
Effectively communicate in shop and office environments.
Timely preparation and submittal of proper documentation upon completion of inspections, including electronic records and digital photographs, and associated file management and organization.
Participation in quality assurance audits and quality meetings.
Coordinate assistance with Project Management staff to resolve problems and/or acquire technical input.
