Position: Elections Clerk
Location: County Clerk - Elections Department Waukegan, IL
Job Summary: Responsible for communicating, scheduling, and maintaining database changes for more than 2500 election judges as well as scheduling training and location assignments for election judges,learning election procedures and answering questions from assigned judges regarding established policies.
An Administrative Assistant in the Elections department is cross-trained in procedures and software systems to assist vital records, voter registration and voting by mail departments during peak levels of activity.
Becoming an Administrative Assistant in the Elections Department would allow you to be involved with election activity within local government, ranging from scheduling training and location assignments to maintaining database changes for election judges. Your day will consist of answering questions from assigned judges. You will have endless opportunities to impact and make a difference within Lake County. Being able to build working relationships with employees, 30 countywide departments, and the public is sure to keep you interested and continuously learning.
To be successful in this role, you should have an Associate's degree and, a minimum of 2-5 years of experience as an administrative assistant. Individuals should have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; possess the ability to effectively problem solve and be able to work both individually and in a team atmosphere. Candidates must have strong communication skills in both written and verbal form; possess the ability to effectively communicate with customers, co-workers and supervisors daily; and be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment with legal deadlines. Accuracy and attention to detail is required.
