Job Description: Quality Assurance

  • Managing Quality Assurance Department
  • Contribute in developing product specification sheets
  • Developing production SOPs and quality standards for testing
  • Maintaining production SOPs and database
  • Directing Food Safety Program and Managing Food Safety team
  • Conduct ongoing internal food safety and GMP staff training
  • Vetting out suppliers and maintaining Supplier Approval Program
  • Managing swabbing program and all microbial and environmental testing
  • Leading daily production meetings
  • Conducting internal audits
  • Managing SQF, local and federal food safety audits
  • Working in conjunction with R&D Director
  • Training Company Staff on Food Safety Policies and Procedures


  • Small, family-owned and operated business; thus requiring direct reporting Director of Research and Development and Management
  • Bachelor, Master, or Ph. D degree in Food Science, Food Technology or relevant field
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the field of Food/Beverage
  • Strong understanding in ingredient technology and processing
  • Have thorough knowledge of FDA, FISMA and GMP Policies and Procedures
  • Ability to source, select and interact effectively with vendors and contractors
  • Knowledge of Genesis nutritional software is a plus
  • Adept in Microsoft Office with experience in Excel
  • Familiar with manufacturing process and equipment
  • Ability to do mathematical calculations at with precision and consistency
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in fast-past environment
  • A passion for food
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently as well as function effectively and comfortably as a multi-disciplinary team member where team results are considered more important than individual contributions.
  • Spanish or other foreign language is a plus
  • Experience with Third Party Food Audits
