Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Iowa (BBBS) seeks a full-time candidate for a Black Hawk County Match Support Specialist position. The Match Support Specialist will be part of the staff team working from the agency’s office in Waterloo.
BBBS matches youth facing adversity (Littles) with adult positive role models (Bigs) to help these youth achieve success in life. Big/Little matches meet 4-10 hours each month in the community or 30-60 minutes each week at the Little’s school, during the school day. The Match Support Specialist will regularly coach, support, and assess Big/Little match relationships, focusing on youth impact and outcomes, relationship development, and child safety. These routine check-ins are completed in-person or over the phone.
A Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services or related field and at least one year of case management experience in a professional human services role is required for this position. A passion for working with youth facing adversity, proven written and verbal communication skills, and comfort speaking in front of small and large groups is required. The successful candidate must have a car, valid driver’s license, and meet state required automobile insurance minimums. Background checks are required.
The starting salary range for this position is $12.50-$13.50 an hour with benefits.
