Under the direction of the Program/Sports Director, the Sports Instructor I/II/III teaches all assigned Sports classes within the guidelines of the Association to maintain the quality of programs. Responsible for creating learning opportunities for specific sports programs for ages preschool through adult.
Prepares teaching area with necessary equipment and the returns equipment to proper storage area when class is complete.
Works with individuals and groups within a class structure to enable all to correct faults, improve self-image, and progress their abilities.
Keeps class attendance records.
Follows designated curriculum for classes to ensure basic components are met and set standards for progression are followed.
Moderate lifting and physical effort required for sports.
Responsible for working indoors and outdoors with programs year round.
Sports Instructor I – Must obtain CPR/FA within 90 days of hire.
Sports Instructor II/III – Must hold current CPR/FA and have basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology
Must be able to demonstrate and explain basic sports skills that are being taught.
Must be able to work at the learning level of particular class. >
Sports Instructor I –
No prior teaching experience. Minimum of 1 yr organized sports participation.
Sports Instructor II –
Minimum 1 yr prior teaching experience. In pursuit of college degree in related field.
Sports Instructor III –
Minimum of 3+ yrs prior teaching experience. College degree in related field.
