POSITION SUMMARY:
The Litigation Project Assistant is responsible for providing support to the Litigation Technology Supervisor and Docket Clerk as well as a team of litigation legal professionals and paralegals. This role will assist litigation technology & e-discovery & provide backup support for litigation docketing. The Litigation Project Assistant will assist with the organization of litigation case materials, pre-trial preparation and the general overflow of projects as assigned by the litigation support team. This role requires strong communication, grammatical, proof reading and writing skills, as well as extreme attention to detail.
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES:
- Provide hands on litigation technology support including database creation, management, and maintenance
- Assign Relativity user access and permissions
- Customize Relativity workspaces and assist with development of solutions to address specific case team needs
- QC files received from vendors, client and other third party sources as well as QC of processed data, incoming and outgoing productions
- Provide Relativity overview to new Litigation hires
- Track files received through the discovery process
- Assist with Litigation Docketing including backup support, monitoring docket inbox and running weekly reports for team or other reports upon request
- Support the litigation team with gathering relevant case documents; including but not limited to cited documents, patent applications, etc.
- Assist with general organization and preparation of litigation case materials such as production, discovery, pleadings and other related materials
- Assist with deposition preparation
- Assist with pre-trial and trial logistical needs
- Provide general assistance to litigation support team when needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Paralegal Certificate or related field preferred.
- 1 year of office experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of Relativity One both administrative and end-user experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Superior attention to detail, problem-solving capabilities, and strong organizational skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with individuals in all levels of the firm
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy/low percentage of errors
- Ability to adapt and accept changes in job responsibilities based on the strategic goals of the firm
- Ability to exhibit sound judgment, maintain confidentiality and use discretion
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor that effectively represents the firm
- Ability to show initiative and accept accountability for projects
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities, and competing deadlines
- Available to work before or after normal working hours as necessary in order to meet the demands of the job and needs of the firm.
