Role: Financial Accounting Analyst (SAP)

Hours: Office Hours – 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday

Accounts Payable

  • Knowledgeable of accounting principles in order to identify correct accounts for accurate posting as well as internal control concepts
  • Matching invoices received to purchase, requisition, and receiving documentation
  • Checks accuracy; applies or verifies coding; posts; and schedules payment in keeping within standard operating procedures
  • Identifies discrepancies and determines alternative courses of action based on accounting principles
  • Possesses a high level of customer orientation to respond to vendor inquiries regarding status of accounts payable
  • Understanding of vendor payment processing including checks, wires, ACH and intercompany
  • Clear understanding of PO types to ensure the correct posting of invoices to SAP Financials
  • Understanding of outstanding check list on monthly basis and follow-ups with vendors
  • Understanding and application of scanning and OCR (Optical Character Recognition) process
  • Ability to Examine current processes for accounting control weaknesses and make recommendations for correction through Essential Job Functions
  • Develop, maintain and update assigned policy and procedures supporting AP processes and systems

Accounts Receivable

  • Experience in direct customer contact when required and effective follow up with customers and internal employees when required
  • Research and resolution of debit memos and research and resolution of credit memos
  • Understanding of customer credit card processes including chargebacks
  • Understanding of customer payment application including checks, wires, ACH and intercompany
  • Ability to create presentations for Management for review
  • Resolve old/disputed balances in a proactive and timely fashion
  • Apply all cash accurately and timely
  • Ability to Examine current processes for accounting control weaknesses and make recommendations to improve internal controls and processes
  • Create account reconciliations accurately and timely
  • Develop, maintain and update assigned policy and procedures supporting AP processes and systems
  • Knowledgeable regarding requirements for credit reviews on customer base


  • Effective written and oral business communication
  • High school degree required.
  • Bachelors Degree in a business related discipline or equivalent experience strongly preferred.


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting/finance with direct related experience with full-cycle accounts payable or accounting knowledge.
  • Experience within a Shared Services Center preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft systems, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced phone skills: listens and responds to customer inquiries and handles difficult situations with care.
  • Familiarity of SAP Financials preferred.
  • Ability to reconcile accounts
  • Basic accounting knowledge is a must.
  • Ability to solve problems quickly
