Human Resources Manager
Job Summary:
We are looking for a hands-on HR professional to lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices for approximately 100 EEs of all levels working in manufacturing, distribution and administration. The position requires a self-motivated individual with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
· Oversees the daily workflow of the department, currently consisting of one HR Administrator.
· Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
· Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
· Provides support and guidance to HR staff, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
· Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations including proper documentation for company/employee records.
· Manages the talent acquisition process, which includes recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborates with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
· Drafts and updates job descriptions; assists in classifying positions and/or reclassifying positions as needed.
· Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
· Works with insurance broker to determine and negotiate annual benefits package with carriers to offer best possible solution for employees and the company.
· Maintains Workers Comp documentation and oversees the reporting process.
· Creates training and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance and ensures all materials (handbooks, training manuals, etc.) are kept current and distributed to staff as needed.
· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
· Acts as primary contact with legal counsel related to employment matters.
· Oversees activities committee and employee engagement through various activities and programs.
· Administrates COVID-19 prevention program and ensures timely reporting and compliance.
· Oversees the annual employee performance review process.
· Reviews and approves biweekly payroll submitted by HR Administrator.
· Performs other duties as assigned.

· Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
· Bilingual English/Spanish required.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
· A minimum of three years of human resource management experience required.
· Experience in a warehouse/manufacturing environment preferred.
· SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
· Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
