The qualified candidate for this role will lead a technically diverse department of scientists and engineers focused on the exploitation and analysis of remotely sensed data. The candidate will oversee efforts that apply analysis techniques to source data that includes electo-optical, infrared, SAR, LiDAR, multispectral and hyperspectral data. The candidate will Lead innovative approaches to multi-source data analysis across these modalities to improve analysis products and insights and Maintain responsiveness and relevancy to program office and government customer requirements.
Provide technical and organizational vision for the department. Develop strategic staffing, budget and facilitates plans to achieve that vision.
Recruit and develop talent as needed to fulfill departmental, divisional and corporate missions and match departmental talent to program office customer needs.
Maintain and enlarge the department’s customer base via outreach, strategic staffing, and efficient execution of existing tasking.
Represent the department and the corporation to high-level government customers.
Provide timely and accurate reports on departmental staff activities and achievements to Aerospace upper management.
Provide day-to-day guidance and counsel to staff. Work with staff to help them achieve their own long-term career goals as well as the corporation’s strategic goals.
Provide senior technical leadership in one or more areas under the department’s charter.
Provide direct technical support to the program office and government customers as needed.
Work across organizational boundaries, both within the company and external to it, to achieve mission success.
Travel as necessary to support job requirements.
Minimum 12 years relevant experience.
Hands on experience in remote sensing applications.
Degree from an accredited university in Science Math or Engineering.
High aptitude for leadership as demonstrated by extensive prior project leadership, staff supervision, or equivalent experience.
Excellent written communication skills with strong interpersonal, as well as formal, verbal communication skills.
Ability to understand and accurately represent technical issues across diverse areas, even where those areas are not in the applicant’s own field of specialization.
Highly motivated and able to work well collaboratively or independently, as each task requires.
Ability to adapt quickly to a customer's evolving needs while maintaining focus and effectiveness in the face of simultaneous, multiple and sometimes conflicting customer, staff and upper management demands.
Must have, or be able to quickly develop, an understanding of divisional, corporate and customer priorities, and act in concert with these priorities.
Must have a current and active Top Secret SCI clearance.
Advanced degree in Science Math or Engineering.
Wide organizational knowledge of ETG, of internal support organizations, and of internal and external (government) customer organizations.
Technically versatile with ability to match the department’s technical specialists to the appropriate customers and tasks.
Demonstrated leadership functions on successful projects in this field.
