Position Overview: The Online Professor of Regulatory Affairs will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students enrolled in the Regulatory Affairs program. The professor will create an engaging learning environment that encourages student participation and ensures the successful transfer of knowledge and skills related to regulatory affairs within the pharmaceutical, biologic, medical device, and healthcare industries. This position involves developing course materials, assessing student progress, and staying current with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching and Instruction:
- Develop and deliver online courses in regulatory affairs, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), and regulatory processes for drugs, biologics, biosimilars, medical devices, and cosmetics.
- Create and update course syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that align with program objectives and industry standards.
- Utilize various online teaching tools and platforms, such as Moodle and Google Classroom, to provide a comprehensive and interactive learning experience.
- Facilitate live or recorded lectures, discussions, and group activities to enhance student understanding and engagement.
- Student Support and Advising:
- Provide timely and constructive feedback on student assignments, projects, and exams.
- Offer academic advising and support to students, helping them navigate the program and address any challenges they may encounter.
- Maintain open communication with students, encouraging them to reach out with questions or concerns.
- Curriculum Development and Improvement:
- Stay current with developments and changes in regulatory affairs, incorporating relevant updates into the curriculum.
- Collaborate with colleagues and industry professionals to continuously improve course content and teaching methodologies.
- Participate in curriculum review and program development initiatives to ensure the regulatory affairs program remains up-to-date and competitive.
- Research and Professional Development:
- Engage in research activities related to regulatory affairs and contribute to the body of knowledge in the field.
- Attend professional conferences, workshops, and seminars to stay informed about industry trends and best practices.
- Pursue ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and subject matter expertise.
- Administrative Duties:
- Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other university activities as required.
- Assist in the development of policies and procedures related to the regulatory affairs program.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- A minimum of a Master's degree in Regulatory Affairs, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field is required. A Ph.D. is preferred.
- Experience:
- At least 3-5 years of professional experience in regulatory affairs within the pharmaceutical, biologic, medical device, or healthcare industries.
- Previous teaching experience, particularly in an online environment, is highly desirable.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and practices, including GCP, GMP, QA, QC, and global regulatory processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with online teaching tools and learning management systems.
- Ability to engage and motivate students in a virtual learning environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
