The Global Indirect Procurement team is looking for a Sourcing Category Manager with deep knowledge and experience in Capital Equipment.
In this role, you will have responsibility for the long term success of supply and sourcing initiatives in Capital Equipment to support effective and efficient supply chains. The key focus will be on leveraging spend, utilizing strategic sourcing, category management and supplier performance management processes and tools to deliver value.
The Sourcing Category Manager will provide functional leadership to regional category managers. In this role you will partner with associates in Procurement, Logistics Operations, Trade Compliance and Supply Chain to develop, recommend, and support Strategic Sourcing Plans, Supplier Selection, Contracting, Negotiation Plans, and Supplier Relationship Management activities to deliver value to the business.

Develop and execute category strategies for the Capital Equipment spend category.
Lead and execute category management sourcing activities for the Capital Equipment category including the development and qualification of new suppliers to support business needs.
Partner with the Capital Equipment team to optimize the supplier network in alignment with the Enterprise Procurement organization.
Create bid packages, negotiate prices and contract terms, solicit bids, analyze quotations, perform contract management and provide commercial recommendations
Drive standardization of procurement processes, policies and best practices into the Capital Equipment Category.
Drive effective Supplier Performance Management for the category including supplier business reviews, scorecards and compliance requirements.
Create, maintain and own business and professional relationships with strategic suppliers and industry players to influence their supply chain capabilities, efficiency, and effectiveness for Gore.
Conduct supplier assessments in partnership with Business and/or Functional resources.
Understand industry trends, the competitive environment and our internal performance to integrate benchmarking into sourcing strategies, supplier selections, negotiation plans, and other process &/or decision making.
Own or facilitate the negotiation and implementation of all global, country or regional contracts with new and existing suppliers to mitigate risk, establish favorable commercial terms and maximize savings opportunities in support of the category strategy and in partnership with the business.
Effectively utilize program and project management tools and techniques while managing multiple complex projects and deadlines.
Partner with the Business and/or Function to identify high-risk suppliers, align stakeholders on recommendations, creation and closure of risk mitigation plans.
Owns supplier continuous improvement roadmap by partnering to conceptualize opportunities and drive improvement of key functional metrics and reductions in operating costs in partnership with the Business or Function.
Support project success by working with project champions and being the liaison with external companies to drive financial and timeline performance to targets
Required Job Qualifications:
BA or BS in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Business
Minimum five years’ demonstrated experience procuring large dollar capital equipment and services in a manufacturing/engineering setting.
Familiarity with industrial manufacturing processes and machinery.
Excellent communication, change management and organizational skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects.
Proven negotiator in sourcing, contracts, and vendor management.
Demonstrated ability to capture and report cost savings related to capital equipment and service procurements.
Strong analytical skills
Read engineering drawings and specifications
Effectively communicate and influence while building a functional network of individuals and teams across organizations, including procurement, engineering, quality, and manufacturer
Work independently and as a member of cross-functional teams
Demonstrated ability to deliver effective business results in a regional and global team environment.
CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, SPSM, or similar certifications.
Deep knowledge and demonstrated ability in developing and leading a category sourcing strategy.
Formal sourcing methodologies
Using e-sourcing tools to execute and manage sourcing projects
Reviewing and negotiating complex agreements.
