Full-Time Private Chef/Estate Manager

Family living between various residences in Hartland and Milwaukee, Wisconsin is seeking a professional, experienced, creative and detail oriented full-time private chef/estate manager to prepare healthy meals and assist with estate management responsibilities for three residences. The schedule for position is five days per week, which include a combination of weekdays and weekends. Flexibility to work holidays and events is required for position. Safe vehicle for transportation is required. Candidates must be comfortable working collaboratively with family office and fully staffed residences (e.g., chief of staff, executive assistant, housekeeper, nannies, etc.). Ideal candidate is a highly organized self-starter with exceptional communication and problem solving skills. Candidates experienced with preparing residences for selling is ideal (one or two residences will likely be sold in the next year or so). Reporting up to the family office, the private chef/estate manager will take full responsibility for the management of three residences, and will be required to deliver world class service to the family and their visitors. The position will also be responsible for supervising all domestic employees to provide a seamless home experience for the family. Family is open to local candidates and domestic relocations, but candidates relocating need to have a strong connection with Wisconsin and clear explanation of why they would enjoy living and working in Wisconsin long term. Start date is ASAP, but flexible for the right candidate.


  • Creativity in preparing healthy meals based around specific dietary restrictions and preferences (organic food required)
  • Knowledgeable about Ketogenic diet
  • Keeping up-to-date on the latest culinary trends and fads
  • Experienced with planning menus for daily meals and events
  • Capable of creating lists and ordering or shopping for fresh foods
  • Professional presence and experience in food presentation and table setting is mandatory
  • Knowledgeable about white glove serving for events
  • All food preparation and kitchen related duties along with grocery shopping
  • High standards of health and hygiene with food
  • Properly storing ingredients and leftovers
  • Coordinating cooking and serving times with Principal
  • Cleaning and tidying kitchen after each use
  • Maintaining all kitchen equipment
  • Interactions with extended family and business associates for holiday meals, business meals and events at the residence
  • Larger dinner parties and scheduling professional staff to assist with meal prep, serving, etc. (Parties over 20 guests will be catered)
  • Managing three residences in Hartland and Milwaukee, Wisconsin (Chief of staff, executive assistant and other employees will also be assisting)
  • Responding to special requests from Principal relating to household related errands
  • Daily walk through of residences to ensure that all systems are functioning properly
  • Scheduling service personnel and contractors while keeping other household staff informed of appointments, time frame of work being completed, etc.
  • Obtaining multiple quotes, negotiating contracts and managing relationships with outside vendors for all projects completed
  • Complying with household budgets
  • Overseeing household projects from start to finish
  • Maintaining comprehensive household manuals setting priorities for tasks on daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Maintaining file systems including those for household operations, warranty manuals, household equipment, invitations, entertainment logs, etc.
  • Maintaining contacts lists that include family members, vendors, contractors, businesses, etc.
  • Managing domestic staff for three residences and supervising the quality of their performance (annual reviews are required)
  • Coordinate staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage at all times based on Principal needs
  • Assist domestic staff with projects when necessary (e.g., creating a collaborative/team environment)
  • Manage inventory for all household item supplies (e.g., China, crystal, clothing, etc.)
  • Ensure pantry, refrigerator and wine cellar are properly stocked in accordance with the Principal's travel and entertaining schedules
  • General housekeeping including care for fine art and furniture (Specific knowledge of how to care for fine fabrics, different woods, antiques and natural stone)
  • Maintain security systems at residences and check/test on a regular basis
  • Maintain vehicles, take for service appointments and keep accurate records of services completed
  • Provide hospitality and attend to guests and family members needs when visiting
  • Manage household schedules and calendars
  • Event planning, organization, coordination and flawless execution day of event
  • Handling household bills and administrative duties (family office is responsible for paying bills)
  • Manage household petty cash and proper documentation and submission of house/domestic credit card purchases/receipts
  • Assist Principal and children prepare for travel (e.g., purchasing requested items, packing, unpacking, etc.)
  • Schedule meetings with Principal and/or family office as needed to discuss their schedules, travel plans, upcoming events, special projects, etc.
  • Running errands and performing necessary tasks (e.g., shopping for home supplies, food and other requested items)
  • Responsible for house projects and handling things around the residences (e.g., receiving deliveries, service providers, contractors, answering phone calls, sending emails, etc.)
  • Preparing residences for selling (one or two residences will likely be sold in the next year or so)


  • Highly flexible with scheduling/work hours and willing to be accommodating to the Principal's needs
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, proactive, excellent time management, efficient and service focused
  • Attentive to Principal's preferences and style (intuitive to their needs)
  • Ability to maintain discretion (confidentiality agreement is required)
  • Ability to be discreet with respect for employer’s privacy (ability to be friendly without being too familiar and available without being intrusive)
  • Professional presentation of self and great personality
  • Ability to develop and maintain solid working relationships with service providers, contractors and vendors
  • Ability to easily take direction
  • Strong ability to communicate and collaborate efficiently with Principal, family office and domestic staff (effective verbal communication skills required)
  • Strong technology skills and experience working with Macintosh and Mircrosoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Sufficient knowledge of business communications (including telephone, voicemail and e-mail)
  • Seeking longevity/long term commitment (e.g., at least 2-5 years, but ideally seeking 5+ year commitment)
  • High level of energy, positive attitude and ability to handle residences and staff with ease and calm demeanor
  • Active and fit


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Culinary degree or certificate is preferred
  • 5-10+ years of consistent and recent domestic experience as an estate manager/private chef with a high net worth or ultra high net worth family
  • 3-4 references from domestic position(s)
  • Driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Extensive background checks, motor vehicle checks, drug tests and psychological evaluation
  • Safe vehicle for transportation
  • Comfortable with small dog


  • $100-120K+ gross annual salary (based on experience and qualifications)
  • $300-500 per month gross health insurance stipend
