Stored Energy Systems is an award-winning manufacturer of power conversion products located in Longmont, Colorado. In business for over 40 years, we have a proven track record of providing highly reliable battery chargers and DC power systems to a variety of markets worldwide.
Works with a high degree of independence to provide commissioning, training, troubleshooting and repair services on SENS power conversion products and systems. Represents company in a manner that provides a high level of customer satisfaction and increases company revenue and profit. Must be competent in working with microprocessor-based systems and associated software utilities. Deals with customers personnel who have a wide range of skill levels. Up to 50% travel, mostly domestic. Only local candidates will be considered.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with customers on-site, via the phone, or through email/chat to answer technical questions and resolve technical issues with SENS products and systems.
Perform on-site trouble-shooting and repair
Perform on-site commissioning, startup, and customer / partner training services.
Help identify and correct repeat problems with products and processes
Perform troubleshooting and first level root cause analysis on returned product
Work with Sales to identify and sell new and replacement business
Other duties as assigned, including providing support to production and engineering groups
Excellent people and communication skills, able to interact effectively with customers who have a wide range of technical skills and personalities in a calm and professional manner
Excellent understanding of fundamental electronics, especially power electronics
Proven ability to troubleshoot to the field replaceable unit level in products that employ both digital and analog electronics. Must be comfortable with software-driven option screens and utilities.
Ability to create and deliver training programs, including video-based training and classroom/hands-on courses
Team player who can work effectively with other members of the Customer Service team, Sales, business partners and Engineering
Detail orientation, particularly in documenting customer calls and outcomes
Education and Experience
5 years previous experience as Customer Service Technician or Field Service Engineer working with power electronics, such as UPS, inverter, or battery charging systems.
Associates degree in electronics
Experience working with storage batteries is a plus
Work Environment/Physical Requirements
Work is performed at customer premises and in company offices / customer service bench area. Must like to travel to diverse locations within the U.S., have a valid driver’s license, with the possibility of international travel. Tasks include use of electrical lab/test equipment and laptop computer. Speaking and hearing required to communicate over the telephone. Vision and depth perception required to perform essential duties. Occasional lifting of 30-50 pounds.
