- Job Summary: Responsible for maintaining the dry storage warehouse in accordance with Federal, State, and company policy. This includes but not limited to receiving, shipping, inventory control, product transfer and other activities necessary for supporting production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Unloading ingredients and packaging in both dry and frozen warehouses, in accordance with Federal, State, and company guidelines.
- Delivering and retrieving stock to various works centers on the production floor.
- Operate P.I.T. and pallet transfer equipment.
- Maintain accurate inventories of packaging and ingredients.
- Perform monthly physical inventory.
- Clean dumpster area and dumpster pits on a regular basis.
- Ensure recycle totes are set up and loaded on recycle trailer when full.
- Empty plastic bailer when full.
- Assist production with rework, scrap, trash, etc. as needed.
- Deliver UPS, FedEx, and other packages to appropriate individuals.
- Maintain a clean work environment, assuring packaging and ingredients are properly sealed and organized, and floors are swept and washed on a regular basis.
- Follow all company, State, and Federal requirements, ensuring compliance with all GMP’S, SOP’s, and any other regulation.
- Work effectively as part of a team and display a positive attitude.
- Be cooperative and take initiative to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with other warehouse duties, including palletizing as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Safety Responsibilities:
- Safety is vitally important not only at our facility but also from a personal standpoint. Employees are responsible for understanding and following all safety procedures. Likewise, food safety is a key performance indicator. Understanding this, GMP and housekeeping procedures are to be followed as part of any job at our facility.
SQF Requirements/Responsibilities:
- Support SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner.
- Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
- Position is backed up by Warehouse Operator.
Education and Experience:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with PIT and warehouse equipment.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to work independently or within a group/team atmosphere.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing: Long periods of time. (6 – 8 Hours)
- Sitting: Occasionally for short periods.
- Walking: Occasionally for short periods.
- Bending: Frequently.
- Twisting of Spine: Occasionally.
- Twisting of Wrists: Frequently.
- Lifting: Light (< 30 lbs frequently, > 30 lbs frequently).
- Carrying: Light (30-50 lbs) frequently, distance 30 yards.
- Pushing/Pulling: Under 75 lbs without assistance frequently.
- Pushing/Pulling: Over 75 lbs without assistance occasionally.
