Summer Intern – Project Management
Major Role and Purpose
Reporting to the Construction or Operations Manager, the Summer Intern will support the Project Management Team initiatives through interfacing with Operations, Estimating, and Finance departments to ensure project goals are met. This position will participate in reviewing, evaluating, and analyzing work flow processes as well as meeting with clients/owners, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure that quality projects are delivered safely on time and within budget.
Description of Duties
This includes, but is not limited to the following:
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and company safety policies and procedures
Conduct inspections of facilities and project sites to ensure compliance with safety standards and policies
Document progress on projects via notes, photos, videos
Managing project document flow
Submittal review and approval process
Change management process
Focus on continuous improvement to achieve improved project performance
Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned
Working towards a bachelors’ degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field equivalent work experience.
Knowledge of basic phases of construction projects
Excellent interpersonal skills in communicating with Clients/Owners, Subcontractors, Vendors, and other third parties
Willingness to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends
Strong work ethic and high degree of professionalism
Ability to maintain project schedules, budgets, job cost, and identify discrepancies
Ability to work in a self-directed environment, effectively organizing time and tasks
Proficient in Microsoft Office, HCSS, JDE, etc.
