PURPOSE OF JOB:
It is the responsibility of the Security Department Associates to maintain a safe, secure environment for Patients, Visitors, Associates, Volunteers and Medical Staff; to enhance communication and provide immediate response to facility needs. It is the responsibility of the Security Director to provide supervision and leadership of the Security Department and to oversee the Environmental Safety of the Hospital, and Doylestown Health Physician and outpatient offices.
Security Regulatory Code knowledge : NFPA, DOH, JCAHO, OSHA, Local
Supervisory responsibilities for Security Officers as well as demonstrates all skills required for Hospital Security Officer position.
Ability to educate all Hospital Staff on safety and security issues
Oversee courier services for Hospital.
Conducts license verification for various Associates within the Hospital or our Insurance Carrier.
Bachelor's degree preferred; college courses beneficial. Preferred in a field of Safety, Security and/or Environmental Management
Safety experience or knowledge base in safety.
Law Enforcement or Security Officer operations experience or healthcare
Healthcare background &/or law enforcement, Emergency Management experience
Leadership - Teaching - Team Player
Proven ability to learn new skills; OSHA, NFPA, JCAHO and DOH codes and standards.
Training time required: 1 to 3 months
