The Senior Accountant, Tax is responsible for preparing federal and state tax returns, tax schedules and tax calculations for Manager, Tax review. Ensures compliance of information for regulatory and financial reporting purposes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Prepare workpapers for the financial statement's tax accounts.
Prepare tax calculations and schedules for Manager, Tax review.
Prepare and file timely tax returns in compliance with tax regulations and LifePoint standards.
Respond, in a timely manner, to any tax notices received.
Research any tax issues that may arise.
Work on projects assigned by managers, directors; respond to auditors as needed.
Maintain required level of technical knowledge and remain current on applicable on tax regulations.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors.
Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information.
Exhibit an understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
Experience: Minimum 4 years of Corporate Federal and State Income Tax experience. Public Accounting experience is a plus.
Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
Licenses: CPA preferred.
