Lean Specialist

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Lean Specialist demonstrates accountability for executing a consistent, rapid and successful deployment of the Lean transformation processes, develops continuous improvement plans addressing critical function needs, and identifies opportunities for improvement. The Lean Specialist will be responsible for implementing strategies and initiatives pertaining to Lean deployment & integration by delivering improvements in the Organization's profitability and efficiency through the relentless pursuit of eliminating waste and removing unnecessary activities and variations.

  • Assists leadership and their teams in the identification, prioritization, and execution of process improvement opportunities through the application of Lean methodologies, principles, tools (e.g., dashboards, 5S, VSM, SMED, TPM, Kaizen, data analysis, etc.)
  • Directly involved in formulation and execution of Lean deployment and integration plans, guidelines, policies and short-term strategies that align with business goal and priorities
  • Provide support and assistance to the site steering team
  • Partners with site steering team regarding planning, facilitation, and follow-up on all Kaizen events
  • Develop and coordinate Lean training and education
  • Leverage best practice strategies and drive consistencies across sites when applicable
  • Drive measurable improvements in process flow
  • Implement a business wide Lean strategy to improve field and office operations
  • Assist functional leaders and managers in establishing effective and scalable process flows
  • Remain current on Lean methodologies and train team members on Lean concepts and mentors people using Lean tools

  • Ability to train and coach all levels of the organization in Lean methods

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, engineering or other relevant discipline
  • Lean certification
  • 5-10 years of experience managing Lean projects
  • 5 or more years of work experience in the oil and gas sector or other relevant industry experience
