The Public Relations Manager will co-lead a cross-departmental team that addresses the “Telling Our Story” objectives and will focus on press relations as well as relationships with state and business leaders. This position will work closely with the Marketing and Communications and Government Relations teams in developing and disseminating appropriate messages.
Accountabilities:

Work with outside agency to build a comprehensive strategic communications plan that tells the story of FHLB Des Moines clearly and compellingly to various audiences; lead execution efforts on said communication plan.

Write and/or edit leadership communications, effectively capturing the voice and strategic priorities of the CEO and the Executive leadership team; partner with executives from across the Bank to help lead the influencer strategy, a multifaceted initiative to identify and communicate with our company's most important audiences.

Be proactive in taking a leadership role when appropriate with system communication efforts.

Build a library of FHLB Des Moines success stories that would be available for various purposes throughout the Bank.

Develop and cultivate strong relationships with media representatives (national, state and local) as well as identify opportunities to tell our story.

Monitor trends, issues and developments in the banking and housing industries.

Provide strategic counsel on positioning and messaging.

Respond to media queries and requests for interviews from press.

Together with the outside agency and/or Communications team, develop effective corporate communication messages and materials/tools for targeted audiences; communication vehicles could include social media, internet, internal/external presentations, written communication, videos, podcasts, talking points, press releases, newsletters, events, digital and traditional materials.

Track the analytics for communication efforts and use the data to create reports with actionable insights.
Qualifications:

5+ years’ experience in a related position, such as Corporate Communications Manager or Consultant.

Experienced and exceptional storyteller both written and oral; editorial proficiency required.

Extensive knowledge of cross-channel communication and branding concepts and metrics.

Proven track record of providing strategic communications advice to senior leaders and project teams.

Strong writing skills and a demonstrated ability to develop influential materials for both internal and external audiences.

Superior attention to detail and organizational skills and the ability to deliver high quality work under pressure.

Ability to clearly and confidently present ideas and information.

Ability to interact effectively with business partners and all levels of management.

Proven experience with Microsoft Suite products.

Degree in Marketing and/or Communications; MBA preferred.
Compensation Range:
Annual Salary: $130,000.00 - $140,000.00
This salary range represents the Bank’s good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of hire. Offer to be determined by selected applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills & abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. This role is also eligible to participate in the Bank’s annual incentive plan.
