L3 Applied Defense Solutions currently has an opening for a Principal Software Developer in Sterling, Virginia.
The Principal Software Developer will provide software (SW) leadership to the development and maintenance teams. Leadership will include technical responsibility, authority, and oversight for the program’s software development practices and results. The Developer coordinate closely with the Systems Engineering team regarding design, user interactions, documentation, development, discrepancy correction, test, integration, and training. The SW lead will work closely with the program manager, identifying technical risks and opportunities, recommending personnel actions, and providing status of all current and upcoming software tasks. The Lead Developer will serve as program architect, recommending architectural design changes as well as recommended technologies and processes required for successful development.
12 years of experience with full life-cycle software development and 3 years of experience as a team lead
Expertise with Java, Swing, JDBC, and experience with Angular, React, Jquery, JSON, XML
Experience with Messaging and/or ESB Technologies
Experience with software architecture design
Understanding of Amazon Web Services
Experience with Web services (SOAP, REST, etc)
Display technology and User Interface development
Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems
Database Management Systems and SQL
Software configuration management processes / tools
B.S. degree in Engineering Science, Computer Science or related discipline
Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph
Experience interfacing with relational, noSQL, and file based storage products
Experience designing interfaces
Experience coordinating with external systems/ clients/ customers
Experience in ROM / proposal development
Experience evaluating and providing annual feedback to software engineers
CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification
Project Management Institute (PMI) certification
Amazon Web Services (AWS) certification
Knowledge of Intelligence Community (IC) processes, policies and guidance.
