Nova Biomedical is looking for an Associate Scientist to join our Advanced Biosensor R&D team based in Waltham, MA. In this role, you will assist in the design, fabrication, and development of Nova’s next generation Biosensor Technology. This is a terrific opportunity for a chemistry minded person who also likes to build small devices from basic materials, has the ability to conduct basic laboratory experiments, analyze and interpret experimental data results and the methodology used, and keep detailed records of the development in a lab notebook.

Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Prepare chemical formulations
Construct, test, and optimize biosensor devices using industrial equipment
Assist in the development of processes and procedures used by Production to manufacture such devices
Investigate the properties and reactions of test reagents as it relates to the sensing device
Continue ongoing experiments and troubleshoot problems with the assistance of the supervisor
Analyze and interpret experimental data, results and methods with the assistance of the supervisor and/or colleagues.
Prepare reagents, maintain equipment
Assist in the day-to-day operation of the lab
Provide support on several different tests, must have the ability to multitask
Arrange experiments to complete them on schedule
Order supplies

B.S./ B.A. Degree in any of the following disciplines: Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Biochemistry, Biochemical engineering, Polymer Science, Material Science, Biology or Medical Technology and experience in a laboratory setting.
Basic biochemical knowledge and laboratory skills.
Experience and familiarity with basic laboratory equipment and operation.
Must have strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and/or laboratory statistical programs. Scripting language capability is a plus.
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced product development team.
