Maine-based Pika Energy, Inc. seeks an Electrical Engineer to fill the role as a New Product Introduction (NPI) Electrical Engineer. The successful candidate will lead Electrical Engineering responsibilities within the NPI team, and support the Quality & Test, New Product Development (NPD), and Production teams. This position reports directly to the Director of New Product Introduction.

Qualifications:
4-year degree in Electrical Engineering
5 years experience in electronics product development and manufacturing/li>

Responsibilities:
Report to NPI team as the primary EE technical authority. Support transfer of designs from NPD into NPI. Partner with the Quality and Test team on projects.
Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design and Design Review, Revision and Change Management, and Layout review for Design For Manufacturing & Assembly (DFM/DFA) for new products, sustaining products and test solutions. Facilitate tech transfer from NPD to Manufacturing, and support resolution of technical and quality issues.
Development of production test software. Develop and implement final product testing and product verification/validation solutions and debug. Scripting solutions for testing and releasing software solutions on hardware releases.
Develop and implement test solutions for new component selections, End Of Life and Long Lead Time components, and new product and/or product revision introductions.
Participate in Design Reviews and see action items to completion.
Work closely with engineering, operations, tech service, and sales/marketing to facilitate the flow of quality and performance information into the design cycle.
Find solutions to high cost components to address production needs and drive down manufacturing costs.
Work closely with Pika’s current contract manufacturers on engineering changes for quality improvement and cost reductions. Act as a point of contact for quoting and developing relationships with new and existing vendors.
Interface and work closely with Pika strategic partners, installers, customers on special projects and opportunities, particularly beta release programs.

Required Skills/Experience:
Design of electronic products, including specifications, schematic design, and PCB layout. Ability to read and understand component datasheet specifications.
Knowledge of software and hardware testing solutions. Experience with Labview preferred. Experience with embedded software and high level programming and scripting languages. DFM and Design For Test.
Systems Engineering experience with Requirements Management, Design Verification & Validation, and Risk Management including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for users, designs, and processes. Strong technical writing and reporting skills.
Ability to conduct root cause analysis. Identify and repair electronics, electromechanical, and mechanical malfunctions and quality issues. Support Corrective Actions and Preventive Actions for design and process issues.
Project Management assistance, including schedules, budgets, and resource management.
Product life cycle experience including new product introduction and ongoing support.
Ability to work in a hands-on environment with hardware and software. Experience with oscilloscopes, DMMs, and scripting languages, along with soldering, cabling and wiring.
Good computer skills with an ability to work in a computer workstation environment.
Experience with High Voltage Power electronics a plus. Experience with low voltage microelectronics solutions.
SolidWorks 3D CAD and 2D drawing exposure. Ability to interpret, review, and create technical drawings and specifications.
Bill of Material and vendor management. Manufacturing Execution Systems. Facilitate engineering changes. Component selection review with an eye on processes compatibility. Product Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) creations, review, and control. Internal Company SOP development and adherence.
Work closely with Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) and Contract Manufacturing (CM). Scale up and cost reduction.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Great-to-have:
Experience with semiconductor devices and power electronics.
Knowledge of PV, wind, or other energy generation and storage.
Experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with manufacturing processes, cycle time reduction, and operator error minimization. Knowledge of PCB manufacturing and SMT line processes.
Experience with databases, data entry, and data analysis. Knowledge of cloud based issue tracking software solutions such as Atlassian products and Salesforce.
Experience with startups and rapidly scaling companies.
