ABOUT THIS POSITION:
The Cash Accountant position is a part of Cash Accounting. Cash Accounting is responsible for verifying that all funds posted to patient accounts is deposited into the appropriate bank accounts. The verification will include cash, checks, credit cards, and EFT (electronic funds transfer) transactions. The Cash Accountant will also assist in reconciling the general ledger cash balance to the bank statement cash balance.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
The Essential Job Functions are:
Bank statement reconciliation
Daily cash reconciliation
Research differences in cash and patient postings
Timely completion of all compliance training and testing
All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Certifications:
College degree preferred, however 5 years plus experience in a Cash position is acceptable
Ability to prioritize duties
Ability to meet deadlines

Ability to work well under pressure with diverse groups of professionals and physicians
Requires reasoning ability and good independent judgment

May require working under stressful conditions and irregular hours
May require working with frequent interruptions
Work may involve prolonged periods of sitting, standing, lifting, bending, reaching and the ability to push or pull items weighing 30 pounds or less
Required to operate computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor
