Who are we?
Multiplatform media company based in downtown New Haven, CT, we are part of Nexstar Media Group. We work with our clients and partners to get their message in front of the right people – with two television stations, station website and mobile apps, and a national digital media company – we can reach audiences to garner mass awareness or create one to one engagement.
What role will you play?
The Research and Operations Analyst is an instrumental role within the Sales Department. We’ll look to you to provide insights on market, tv, digital and programming trends, as well as performance of client and station campaigns. You will have the ability to oversee all digital and linear campaign operations to help achieve goals for our clients.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred in Marketing, Communications, English or Statistics.
Knowledgeable about media related software including Wide Orbit, Kantar, Google Ad Manager and other comparable software.
Highly proficient in all MS Office products, primarily MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power Point.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience.
Minimum of 2-3 years of research experience preferably inside a media company’s sales department.
The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
The knowledge and capability to present about the industry and marketplace research trends.

Problem-solving and deductive reasoning is required to accomplish tasks.
Clear and concise communications both through writing & presentation skills.
Organizational skills for daily responsibilities & special projects for sales and marketing team.
Asses and understand media campaigns through linear and digital platforms.
Ability to create presentations with Power Point, Excel, Emerging tools, etc.
Must be comfortable presenting alongside a team of account executives and Management on key client meetings.
Overseeing, analyzing and maintaining all research information and functions from Nielsen, Kantar, Marshall Marketing, Strata, Google Ad Manager and other tools that support and enhance the sales and marketing effectiveness of our brands in the marketplace.
Provide valuable research data to Sales, News and Promotions departments. For example, compiling and distributing relevant ratings facts, trends and analysis, ratings successes and challenges.
Prepare inventory and performance reports for sales managers within deadlines.
Gather campaign data for proof of performance presentations for Sales & Marketing clients.
Manage local digital campaign operations.
Communicate with corporate digital ad operations to maintain campaign effectiveness.
Work Environment/Mental/Physical Requirements: This position requires a cooperative attitude, and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities and challenges. May work in a high stress environment with deadline pressures.
The ability to operate a computer and business equipment. Must be able to sit, reach, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment or items weighing up to 25 pounds. In addition, must be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls.
