Position Summary:
This position is at a new Kuraray facility with the opportunity to make a substantial impact in developing work practices and influencing the site culture.

This role will develop and lead the site's maintenance programs including but not limited to preventive maintenance, lockout tag out, root cause analysis, and safe work procedures in line with Kuraray's values. This person is expected to troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate maintenance activities with third party contractors.

Create, implement, and manage preventive maintenance and reliability program
Plan, schedule, and coordinate maintenance activities
Specify equipment with consideration to proper application, materials of construction, and the correct performance requirements
Troubleshoot equipment issues
Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures
Identify and manage spare parts
Manage equipment documentation
Implement small projects

HSE Responsibilities:
The maintenance specialist will understand & adhere to the principles & practices as outlined in the KAI Safety & Environmental policies. It is the responsibility of this position to understand & comply with all KAI safety & environmental rules & all applicable governmental laws & regulations at all times. It is the responsibility of this position to identify & communicate any deviations from these rules & regulations that the person witnesses to the appropriate position to be addressed.

HS/GED + Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree + 4 years of relevant experience
Experience troubleshooting equipment problems
Strong sense of ownership, initiative, and drive
Good interpersonal skills. Position requires productive interactions with multiple people at different levels within company, contractors, vendors and periodically with customers.
Basic computer skills including Excel, Word, and SAP (or ERP equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with twin screw extrusion.
Experience with lean manufacturing methods and continuous improvement programs. (5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen, TPM, etc.)
Experience supervising in a maintenance department
