Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Extraction/Lab Technician to join our team at an ethanol cannabis extraction facility. As an Extraction/Lab Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the equipment used in the extraction and refinement processes, with a focus on wiped film distillation as the final step of refinement. Your expertise will contribute to the production of high-quality cannabis Distillate oils.
Responsibilities
- Extraction Process: Execute various extraction techniques using ethanol to extract desired compounds from cannabis plant material.
- Equipment Operation: Safely and efficiently operate extraction equipment, including but not limited to extraction machines, filtration systems, evaporators, and wiped film distillation units.
- Refinement: Perform the final step of refinement using wiped film distillation to separate and purify desired compounds, ensuring high product quality and consistency.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular quality control checks throughout the extraction and refinement processes to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements.
- Data Recording: Accurately record process parameters, extraction yields, and laboratory observations in the designated logbooks or electronic systems.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean, sanitize, and maintain extraction and distillation equipment, ensuring proper functioning and minimizing downtime.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, maintain a clean working environment, and follow all relevant regulations and guidelines pertaining to cannabis extraction and laboratory operations.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members, including extraction specialists, lab scientists, and production staff, to achieve production goals and maintain a smooth workflow.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and address operational issues, troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated with industry trends, new extraction techniques, and advancements in equipment technology to contribute to process optimization and innovation.
Compensation
Salary/Rate: $18 - $20 DOE
