The HR Business Analyst supports day-to-day operations of the HR Department by providing functional and technical expertise regarding HR systems, data management and processes. Analyses and audits data, makes recommendations and proposes corrective actions based on findings; produces reports and metrics; assists with development of the process maintenance documentation in support of implementations; participates in special HR projects.

Data Management
Uploads and manipulates data in different systems and formats: Oracle, ADP, SharePoint, csv and Excel
Performs audits and analysis of the data, and data reconciliations
Maintains the accuracy and integrity of data and works with HR functional areas to correct discrepancies
Performs confidential research related to Human Resources data/systems issues
Compiles, evaluates and makes data related recommendations to appropriate individual(s), while committing to strict deadlines and maintaining a high degree of confidentiality
Designs, develops, creates and updates HR metrics to determine the value and effectiveness of HR initiatives
Prepares graphical representations and/or special reports, utilizing HRIS, SQL, Excel, macros, and other systems and applications to manipulate, analyze and logically present data
Participates in initiatives related to data cleaning, planning and preparation of data uploads
Works directly with the internal or external clients to identify analytical requirements
Produces and presents reports as needed

Documentation Maintenance

Reviews and maintains documentation related to HR systems and processes.

Gathers information or requirements and creates detailed documentation that includes: Use Cases, Process Flow Diagrams, Report Specifications and Data Mapping

Edits and updates training materials

System Implementation

Assists with the rollout of new HR tools and systems, taking in consideration SGS HRIS architecture and SGS Organization structure
Supports HR team during workshops: coordinates the collection of HR requirements, prepares process mapping, flowcharts, documentation/training materials and any other post-launch support resources
Operational Excellence

Maintains the accuracy and integrity of data based on daily operation’s needs
Participates in HR process optimization and standardization activities and projects
Provides outstanding internal customer support
Identifies opportunities and recommends innovative solutions for process/customer service improvements
Serves as a key liaison with other SGS departments: IT, Payroll, and other HR business units throughout the organization
Complies with government regulations
Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures
Performs other duties as assigned

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field
3+ years of HR Business Analyst experience, supporting and solving business problems using Microsoft Excel (advanced level – pivot tables, VLOOKUP, other key formulas, macros), and SQL
Experience implementing processes/systems and providing support for core HR solutions (Recruitment, On-boarding, HR Administration, Performance
HRIS experience (Oracle, ADP or other similar HRIS systems)

2+ Project Management and Lean process concepts experience
Business Analyst certification, and/or PMI-PBA certification

  • Travels up to 5% of time
  • Travels to other SGS locations, mainly to West of Houston as projects may require
