What you’ll be doing...
The Senior Principal will be a member of Verizon’s BA COE Team, which is accountable for delivering support to Verizon Consumer Group, primarily responsible for identifying gaps and opportunities while helping to develop recommendations. This position will have responsibilities to understand the business problem, translate the problem into a pragmatic design, develop a proof of concept and eventually hand over the proof of concept to a team who will take the project towards end-to-end execution. The position will also be responsible for overseeing the project until execution is complete. The position will also be required to bring in an outside perspective to the solutions and provide thought leadership to analytics solutions. The Senior Principal will work at the intersection of database management, marketing, and finance. You’ll partner with your data scientist team to understand what they need to know, and then develop data-driven analytical solutions utilizing SQL and various BI tools that includes Thought Spot, Tableau, and Excel. You’ll be tasked with connecting disparate sets of data and developing analyses and insights that help to improve results and make critical business decisions.
Thought leadership on Analytics Space along with the hands-on ability to demonstrate the pragmatic applications of the ideas. A sound understanding of what works in the short term and what can work in the long term. Ability to take risks and bets to advance business analytics capabilities to solve complex problems. Participate in cross-functional project teams to identify critical business questions and pain points. Interpret business requests and translate them into designs, data views, and analysis. Continuously identify opportunities to enhance data analysis, reporting efficiency and methodology. Identify new gaps and opportunities for improvement in available data, and work with IT and business leads to implement new solutions or update existing processes. Develop a deep understanding of Verizon’s data structure across Wireline and Wireless and become an expert in accessing, integrating.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, information systems, analytics/business intelligence, engineering, mathematics, statistics, other relevant discipline or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
End to end Analytics experience in understanding business problem, translating the problem into an analytics question, develop solution and explain the analysis.
Experience using advanced SQL queries to extract data for use in analysis and presentations.
Experience investigating and solving complex technical problems and data discrepancies.
Working knowledge of Python, R or other languages for scripting and more advanced analyses.
Experience with data visualization applications such as ThoughtSpot, Tableau, Qlik.
Experience with Excel.
Even better if you have:
Masters’s degree in business, marketing, information systems, analytics/business intelligence, engineering, mathematics, statistics orother relevant discipline.
Telecom industry experience.
Experience with Teradata.
Experience with statistical analysis, quantitative analysis, forecasting/predictive analytics, multivariate testing.
Project management experience.
Experience in process and requirements documentation.
Willingness to travel.
