Seasoned Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) needed with acute clinic/ambulatory experience for our Queen Supthin Health Center. Must have experience in a high Volume outpatient clinic/Hospital Setting and understands the need of compassion to work with the underserved. We offer excellent salary and benefits. POSITION SUMMARY

The Licensed Practical Nurse provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Regional Nurse Manager or Medical Provider.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Accurately collects clinical data on patients and demonstrates competency in performing clinical interventions and reports abnormalities to Medical Provider or RN.
  • Documents nursing observations, interventions, and patient’s response to treatment in patient records
  • Demonstrated competency in performing venipuncture for collection of blood specimens and facilitates the prompt and accurate processing and distribution of specimens collected
  • Ensures that patients receive timely and appropriate care within the delivery system and facilitates internal and external referrals in collaboration with the RN
  • Attends internal and external educational seminars/ staff trainings.
  • Performs all related duties, as assigned, or unrelated duties, as requested, during emergencies

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing with 3 years of experience in ambulatory care setting required. Demonstrated competency in performing venipuncture for collection of blood specimens. Nursing Home experience is not applicable

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION:

Currently registered in New York State as an LPN

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $50,000.00 to $55,000.00 /year

  • Community Health/Outpatient Clinic: 2 years (Required)
  • Phlebotomy: 2 years (Required)
  • working with patients with HIV/AID/Chronic Illnesses: 2 years (Preferred)
