Health Data Analyst – NUHW for Health Information Management (HIM) at St Joseph Hospital in Eureka, CA.
Full-time position; 80 hours biweekly. 8-hour Day shift.
Under the immediate supervision of the Health Information Management Department Manager, the Health Data Analyst I performs complex functions necessary to ensure a complete and integrated health record in compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, hospital policies and procedures, and state and federal regulations.
Ability to read and interpret documents, instructions and manuals.
Ability to write reports and correspondence.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to apply critical thinking to situations involving several concrete variables in standardized and non-standardized situations.
Ability to work with all hospital personnel, including physicians and public.
Ability to deal effectively with conflict.
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of patient medical records.
High School graduate or certified equivalency (GED).
One year medical record or related health care experience.
Highly competent in the Windows environment.
Demonstrated understanding of medical terminology (Employee must have completed a medical terminology class or have medical terminology class scheduled for completion within 1 year of hire).
Proficient in ten key.
Post high-school education
Previous medical records and/or Health Information Management (HIM) experience
