Full Job Description
The Food Service worker performs duties that require a broad knowledge of food service operations and advanced delivery system such as diet communication procedures, food and nourishment preparation, food and beverage serving, dry and refrigerated storage and sanitation.
Selects and places food items on patient trays and performs the final check of trays for accuracy and high quality appearance.
Prepares individual and bulk nourishment and special feedings for patients.
Labels and distributes individual nourishment and tube feedings to appropriate patients or nursing stations utilizing computer printouts.
Utilizes computer printouts (i.e. menus and production reports) to determine the number of servings when portioning salads, desserts and special items for the tray line.
Processes tray tickets and daily computer printouts, prints, organizes, and checks tray tickets for accuracy prior to each meal.
Processes and distributes calorie count data.
Maintain par levels of bulk nourishment and tube feeding by replacing expired and depleted products.
Reviews diet changes prior to service, making appropriate adjustments on individual patient trays.
Assist lower grade employees and provide training on technical work matters.
Work Schedule: 6:00am-2:30pm, 7:00am-3:30pm, 8:00am-4:30pm, 9:30am-6:00pm; 11:00am-7:30pm; Weekends and Holidays

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
