This unique position requires a highly creative and motivated individual to partner with the best game developers from across the globe to build the next generation of Disney, Pixar and 20th Century Studio Games. The Lead Artist will provide visual direction, guidance, and feedback to ensure all of our characters and worlds within our games are innovative, authentic and high-quality. This is an onsite position and candidates must be willing to relocate to California.
The Lead Character Concept Artist reports to the Senior Brand Art Director.
Provide portfolio with related work experience in character art.
You Will:

Work with external game developers to guide game's visual progress from concept through to completion and live service.

Provide visual feedback, guidance and direction to help deliver quality and brand authenticity across all our games in the form of draw-overs, painter-overs, and written notes.

Establish high benchmarks and provide recommendations to improve visual design and execution.

Research and identify creative new visual styles; provide appropriate recommendations and suggestions for new games and partners.

Work with Senior Art Director regarding goals, priorities and individual project progress.

Problem-solve brand/visual design challenges, always working towards visual improvement of our products, characters, and worlds.

Communicate and collaborate directly with our Production Team and External Game Studios.

Participate in creative brainstorm sessions to develop new game thought-starters, setups and conceits leveraging our brands.

Manage and mentor internal artists for growth and career development.
You Will Have:

8+ years gaming experience on a mobile, console or pc.

Ability to create compelling artwork and illustrations.
-
Passion for mobile and console gaming with a clear understanding of various game types.
-
Proficient 2D art skills with ability to draw and illustrate Disney-like characters and worlds.

Strong artistic knowledge with understanding of forms, materials, composition, perspective, color, anatomy, and lighting.

Broad knowledge and ability to execute various art styles.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present feedback and ideas in a clear and concise manner.

Creatively oversee and guide projects from beginning to end with little assistance while keeping Senior Art Director updated on product progress.

Self-starter, reliable, and passionate about their work; committed to their discipline and its challenges.

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite including Adobe Photoshop.

Experience with a 3D package a plus.

Disney and Pixar fan a must.

The hiring range for this position in location is $92,742.000 to $124,410.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
