Summary: This individual will provide engineering and support for Modernization projects, including Connected Enterprise, in all W&C facilities. The individual will coordinate continuous improvement initiatives, cost reduction projects, capital project justifications, project timelines, and work measurement. This individual will work to ensure that Modernization and Operations objectives are met and exceeded. This individual will be responsible for creating, maintaining and developing components used in Connected Enterprise thread.
Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and update thread timelines in Smartsheet software
- Evaluate plant capabilities and capacities relative to specific products and product hierarchies
- Create and maintain Critical Process Maps to drive strategic Modernization project implementation
- Evaluate Sales Forecast and ensure Modernization project timelines align with business needs
- Identify opportunities to improve project costs and timelines
- Analyze and optimize plant and equipment layouts (3P & VPI)
- Facilitate cadence meetings with modernization project managers, engineers, and plant staff
- Drive Management of Change process / workflow for modernization projects to include spare part reviews
- Drive and track cost-out and capacity growth initiatives relative to modernization projects
- Work with manufacturing teams and equipment vendors to specify equipment
- Work with Finance team to develop annual budgets and maintain cash flows for Modernization project threads
- Assist with sustainability reporting (Environmental, Human Capital, and Safety)
- Facilitate follow up on equipment installations and commissioning
- Assist with future equipment evaluations
- Assist with reports and presentations
- Maintain, configure and troubleshoot PTC Kepware, GE Historian, GE Plant Apps and Operations Hub.
- Insure new projects include correct architecture to support additions to the Connected Enterprise platform.
- Investigate system issues and take necessary actions to resolve.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or other Engineering field required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong data analysis, problem solving and time management skills.
- Knowledge of Wire and Cable manufacturing and/or Project Management systems is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience preferred.
- Must be able to work well on teams with sales, product management, and operations.
- Must be detail oriented with the ability to think critically and logically.
- Must be willing to travel approximately 30% of the time.
- 2+ years of Operational technology experience
- Preferred software skills related to Kepware and GE Suite applications
